1. Prepare:
- Ensure hands are clean and dry before handling the Spigot Guard.
- Confirm the product is an intact, single-use, sterile cap.
2. Attach:
- Peel the disinfecting cap from its protective strip.
- Firmly place the Spigot Guard over the drainage spigot on the urine collection bag.
- Twist the cap clockwise and then counter-clockwise to help ensure a proper fit and distribution of the disinfectant.
- Slide the cap into the holder on the urine bag until you hear the wing "snap" into place, which secures it to the bag.
3. Maintain:
- Leave the Spigot Guard in place and secured to the holder when not in use.
- The cap provides a disinfecting barrier and should not be removed until drainage is required.
- This is a single-use product and is not designed for cleaning and reuse.
4. Remove for drainage:
- To drain the bag, remove the Spigot Guard from the drainage spigot.
- Use the drainage spigot as normal, following your facility's protocols for handling urine.
5. Replace:
- After draining the bag, replace the used Spigot Guard with a fresh, sterile one. Do not reuse the previous cap.
